
Lesbian Couple in Turkey was released
Barcelona: The argentinian-hispanic woman María Jimena Rico Montero, who was in jail in Istanbul after several days that remained missed altogether her girlfriend from Egypt, named Shaza Ismail Ibrahim, arrived to Barcelona Airport safe and healthy, after being deported and are making their way to Torrox, in Málaga, where Maria’s family lives.
María talked to Antena 3 and said she was “Psychologically and physically” tired, she feels stunned, but ok” and still “there are many things to understand”. “We are pretty tired, but wishing come to Málaga” she said.
The spanish consul in Istanbul attended the centre where both women were in jail to help them with the paperwork that let them get out of the Turkey territory, according María Jimena’s family.
María and Shaza tried to get a flight from Dubái, where Shaza’s parents live. At first they were making to London.
It seems, Shaza’s father had denounced them at the United Arab Emirates for their homosexual relationship, which is prohibited in that country.
When they were leaving the country, they were caught at the Tiflis airport by Shaza’s father, in company of an attorney in law, to avoid his daughter leave the country.
In the middle of a fight, her father destroyed Rico’s passport, but both women managed to escape and crossed the bordeline to Turkey and they had the bus to Samsun, at the Black Sea coast, where the turkish police put them in jail for entering the country without papers.
After being under arrest for twelve hours they were released and had a bus to Istanbul, where both women were put in jain again, and taken to a deportation centre.
