Mariela Muñoz, pionner of LGTB Rights, passed away

Buenos Aires: She was the first transexual who got her feminine ID in Argentina. She was publicly known in 1993, when a judge took her away the custody of three children she took cared as a mother.

Mariela Muñoz was the transexual of the 90’s who questioned the concept of family and became the first in getting the feminine ID in the country, she passed away last friday afternoon, but the news was known sunday morning.

Muñoz was 72 years old and had gained some fame, when minorities were not only an expression of desire, and when this kind of themes were still a taboo.

After her death was publicly known, several organizations of LGTB rights expressed their pain through social network.
“Solidary as few people, she raised a family based on love and free of prejudices”, said Estebán Paulón, videpresident of the LGBT Argentinian Federation.
