The car of the future is already here

BMW said in the hours before the opening of the exhibition of consumer electronics CES, a system to give orders to the car via a smart watch that emulates technology television series 80’s “Knight Rider“.

In a video simulation, Vice President of Electronic BMW, Elmar Frickenstein, imitated character Michael Knight, played by David Hasselhoff and called a prototype vehicle, through his wristwatch, as Knight did with Kitt.

As reported in Forbes, the vehicle incorporates a remote support application parking which is activated by a smart clock and allowing him to circulate autonomously car for parking.

According to Director of BMW, this is one of the possibilities before it, the automotive industry with the development of the “internet of things“, as it is called in the technology sector project connecting any type of object to Internet ease of use.

BMW did this demonstration during a lecture by global president of Samsung, Boo-Keun Yoon, on the development of the “internet of things” on the eve of the official opening of the CES show in Las Vegas (USA).

The CES was held from 6 to 9 Jan. and hosted more than 3,600 companies from 140 countries in a total exhibition area of over 250,000 square meters, distributed between the Convention Center Las Vegas and several hotels in the city.
