Chile seeks including adoption for gay couples
Deputies Chamber open the chance of adoption to the new civil state in Chile, the AUC (Union Civil Agreement) whose last reform let same sex couple acknowledgement. In a private meeting with Fundacion Iguales representatives, the justice minister Javiera Blanco. And another meeting leaded with Integration movement and homosexual liberation (Movilh) said that government will not go against it.
All assistants said that the state secretary manifested a supporting position to that petition: including the AUC in the bill that modifies the current adoption systems. The same sources say that Blanco made it clear that the government will not boost it, but president Bachelet will not go against it.
Assistants to the meetings leaded by Blanco with Movilh and Fundación Iguales said that Blanco made it clear that, she couldn’t make it sure about the priority, it means, the position of heterosexual civilian cohabitants or homosexuals ones in the list of those persons considered for the adoption procedure.
For the organizations that defend sexual diversity and different kind of family, this may be a problem, because an homosexual couple may be, eventually, at the last line of the list, almost helpless, that may adopt.
